Armed Gunmen

Armed Gunmen

In the news recently was the Fort Hood Shooting at the Fort Hood Military Base in Killeen, Texas.

This is the second time there has been a massacre at that same exact military base.

The last shooting was five years ago. Many believe this shooting was a 5 year anniversary celebration of the last Fort Hood shooting.

This was an unfortunate reminder to myself that I simply have zero tolerance or sympathy for armed gunmen. Period. I have none. They die dishonorable deaths in my opinion and those whose lives they stole deserve memorials. On the other hand I question the reason that armed gunmen do the things they do. I do agree that in many armed gunmen situations it has later been revealed that the shooter was bullied, chastised, hated, and reviled by his peers.

I don't think that's fair.

I think it's beyond all doubt that if such actions could lead to an armed massacre that perhaps what it is that makes people human beings, a soul, can be easily pushed into a corner and made to feel defenseless and, as all know, when you corner something and aim for its weak spot typically it's a life or death scenario for that thing and if it survives than there's no telling just how badly the consequences could be.

Proportional Retaliation was not an option for people such as the Columbine Shooters, the Virginia Tech Shooter, or the Fort Hood Shooters.

Otherwise, why would they have done what they did?

Lack of Empathy vs. Lack of Sympathy

Lack of Empathy vs. Lack of Sympathy

This is going to come up eventually so i'll address it now.

Let it be known that a lack of sympathy is not a lack of empathy.
I appreciate individuals and all of the materials that comprise them, just not the materialism that engulfs them.

To put it bluntly, feeling sympathetic for someone who has poured the entirety of their resources into achieving more material resources just seems like a vicious cycle designed to repeat itself until there eventually ceases to be any others working.

While showing empathy is important in scenarios where it is merited, sympathy is something that is rarer to come across for me and thus I say , "I Have No Sympathy" but of course, it's not that I Have Zero Sympathy, it's just that i'm having fun.

Sympathy is incredibly important and the inability to Sympathize is not strictly characteristic of someone who cannot empathize but it is implicating.

I'd get that checked out if I were you.

To the Jews At the Kansas City Jewish Center

To the Jews At the Kansas City Jewish Center

We love you. We like you. We care about you. We really want you to be happy. One thing we know, however, is that mass shootings , even those that are aimed towards religious communities (in the United States at least) are hardly ever motivated by religious persecutors.

CNN is alluding to the idea that the Kansas City Jewish Center Shooting was a hate crime.

For all we know, it is just an idea.

In the past, shootings at churches, mosques, temples, and shrines have very rarely been motivated by religious persecutors.

At least not in the United States.

CNN is proposing an idea that should not be at the forefront of people's minds on this issue as it is an idea that has rarely crossed the mind of past shooters who opened fire in religious areas and buildings.

Again, if you look every mass shooter in the United States' history, shooters rarely discuss their motivations in even non-religious surroundings as being motivated by religious persecution.

Sure, the Virginia Tech shooter believed he was Jesus Christ reincarnated. Marilyn Manson though he was doing God's work, and many genocides have been carried out in the name of religion.

But, if you label this as what it is, a mass shooting, and you run the numbers against every other mass shooting in the United States' history the odds of it being motivated by religious persecution is actually a minority of the numbers. More often than not, that is, it will not be motivated by religion in any way.

As such the odds that this is was a religiously motivated persecution of Jews is statistically inappropriate.

A better way to rephrase this would be, "Although statistically unlikely, the odds of the shooting being motivated by religious persecution was recently declared by us as an appropriate possibility. However, seeing as the we've now run the numbers and it is statistically inappropriate to allude to the idea we have rescinded that statement as we recognize a clearly hasty allusion was made and it was intended solely to garner media publicity at the expense of causing mass hysteria throughout the Jewish Community. We apologize for our greed and our crass narcissism."

Ukrainian Crisis / Civil War

Ukrainian Crisis / Civil War

The escalating Ukrainian Crisis is nothing if not a Civil War.

Firstly, the oil pipelines running from Russia to Europe are of paramount importance to not only the EU and the RF but also to the business interests of both organizations. To attack or attempt to seize the oil pipeline in anyway, the Pro-Russian Ukrainian forces would be jeopardizing the supply lines of the EU and the political stability of the entire Caucasus as well as the EU.
Crimean Protest, Riot, Unrest, Anger
Crimean Protest
There's not much to laugh about and there's certainly some scenes unfolding there I wouldn't want in a school play however, the fact of the matter is that this article will 100% NOT cover everything happening in Ukraine, including the statistical chance of an invading superpower stepping in,

Secondly, the current political and military situation in Ukraine's eastern regions including Crimea is unstable. Anything can happen as any invading superpower could conquer the region and militarily siege the supply lines, cutting them off, or siphon the oil for themselves.

In order to achieve stability in the region the Ukrainian and Russian governments must back down and let democracy continue but Crimea should allow the U.N. and the Red Cross in to aid the in wounded and act as peacekeepers to ensure violence does not continue. At the rate that the Crimean crisis is escalating it is only a matter of time before a full-scale Civil War erupts.

Many believe a civil war has already begun with pro-Russian soldiers seizing police stations, government offices, and key strategic buildings to safeguard their territorial gains.  Crimea, with pro-Russian soldiers, Russian soldiers, and the entirety of Russia's military mobilized on the bored of Ukraine in what seems like the classic pincer movement of an invading superpower, where a civil war even be out of the question as a full-scale international powder keg may erupt at a feather's drop.

As to whether or not there is a civil war ongoing, it certainly SEEMS that way.

Now would be the perfect time for an invading superpower to seize Ukraine or Crimea, when at its weakest. Although, it would be globally unpopular to seize Crimea amongst all the political and democratic instability.

Thirdly, Pro-Russian Soldiers are attacking police stations and sieging them in order to seize the arsenal of weapons within alongside armor and other tactical weapons and gear in order to upgrade their weapons and armor from the lower caliber outfits they have and to arm those volunteers willing to enlist with them.

Blood is being spilled and massacres are taking place at these flash points throughout eastern Ukraine and the U.N. needs to step in in order to end the violence where it is most intense or else there will be a full-scale civil war.
crimea, russia, unrest, protest
Crimean Crisis

Pro-Russian forces are arming and fortifying their numbers more so each day and it is only a matter of time before they have a full standing army.

If the U.N. acts NOW they can do something.

If the RUSSIANS act now, they can stop the violence.

If the UKRAINIANS act now they can stop the violence.

Whoever steps in can end this all RIGHT NOW, even AN INVADING SUPERPOWER.

Global Murder Rates Drop, Americas Still "Violent"

Global Murder Rates Drop, Americas Still "Violent"

Honduras currently has the highest murder rate in the world with the city of San Pedro Sula boasting a murder rate of 90.4 out of every 100,000 people, 15 times the likelihood of murder for the average human being.

There is no such thing as heaven in a city like San Pedro Sula as it would seem. Hell is a place on earth, and its name is San Pedro Sula.
