Penguins
Penguins, when deciding whether to get serious with their mates or not, propose by giving a pebble to their mate.
Once, during mating season when a penguin is of mating age, a penguin will find a pebble and present that pebble to the mate of his choosing. If she accepts then the penguins will be mates for life and live, hopefully, happily ever after.
